Canon RF 24-105mm Announced Along With RF 100-500mm & 5 More RF Lenses Confirmed

Canon has announced new RF lenses coming in 2020, as well as launching the RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM lightweight lens. Plus, the super-telephoto Canon RF 100-500mm has been introduced.

Canon RF 24-105mm Announced Along With RF 100-500mm & 5 More RF Lenses Confirmed: RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM

Canon has launched a new RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM wide-to-telephoto lens along with a new super-telephoto zoom RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM lens (in development), 2 converters and Canon has also said 5 more RF lenses will arrive in 2020 which will take the total number of new RF lenses released this year to 9.

Canon says that the RF 24-105mm F4-7.1 IS STM’s STM Autofocus motor also provides fast AF performance for stills and smooth, quiet performance during video capture. It's also enhanced by 5-stop Image Stabilisation (IS).

The RF 24-105mm lens will be available from April 2020, for £459.99.

Two new extenders, the Extender RF 1.4x and Extender RF 2x are also on the way, along with the new RF 100-500mm f/4.5-7.1 L IS USM lens but no details, apart from that it's in development, have been released. 

Away from lenses, Canon has said that the Canon EOS R5 full-frame mirrorless camera, which is capable of 8K video capture, is in development and the new Canon EOS 850D DSLR for enthusiasts will be available in April 2020 for £819.99.
