A Charming Sheep Image Has Been Awarded POTW

A charming image of a sheep on the hillside has been awarded the POTW accolade this week. 

The image, called 'The happy sheep' by ePz member Stevetheroofer caught the eye of the team and here's why we thought it deserved to win the accolade: 

This is a really lovely sheep portrait, in which backlighting and composition have been used well to bring the viewer's attention to the sheep looking at the camera, which almost looks like it could be smiling back at the rest of the flock. 

The black and white format adds an atmospheric simplicity to the image, and depth of field makes the onlooking sheep and the patch of grass that she is on the sharpest point of focus, leaving the hills behind her to blur into the grey sky. A really lovely environmental animal portrait.
