The EIZO-developed ColorNavigator colour management software is free to download from the EIZO website and can be used to assist in the calibration of ColorEdge monitors. Once you download, install and open the software you'll be greeted with the main window where various options / features are available. To help you understand what each option / feature does, we've put together a quick guide.

ColorNavigator Colour Management Software Main Window Guide:

1. Target list

This lists all of the adjustment targets created by the user when calibrating their monitor.

2. 'Create a new target button'

By clicking this button, the user can walk through the steps needed to create a new adjustment target the monitor will use for calibration.

3. 'Delete' button

Use this to remove any unwanted adjustment targets from the target list. (target must be clicked on so it is highlighted first)

4. 'Preferences' button

This simply opens the 'Preferences' dialog box so the user can adjust the options to suit them.

5. 'Detail' button

Click this to show the 'Detail' window where more advanced information about an adjustment target can be found.

6. 'Adjust' button

Click this to adjust a target previously created. Various values can be tweaked including Brightness, White Point and Gamma.

7.  'Validate' button

This allows the user to validate the monitor adjustment status with respect to the adjustment target of the monitor. Validating the monitor verifies the degree to which the state of the adjusted monitor matches the adjustment target.

8. 'Advanced' button

When this button is clicked a set of new options appear:

  • Import and Export targets
  • Adjust your calibration results manually
  • Create an ICC profile of a tablet/display device.
  • Emulate a device, ICC profile or Log view LUT.
  • Adjust the light booth
  • Show the test pattern
  • Set a self caliberation schedule
  • Correlate the built-in calibration sensor with the reference measurement device
  • update the monitor gamut
  • Show the policy for creating the profile of each adjustment target

9. Help

Click this button for more assistance with the software

10. Quit

Close the main window.

Target List Marks

When the user has completed an adjustment it appears in the Target List and a mark is placed next to it. This mark shows the status of the target / emulation data. Here are the symbols that could appear and what they mean:
