Will Smith explains how to make a slide show of your favourite photos using PhotoSuite
| Other SoftwareWhen creating a slide show on a computer it is possible to do a lot of things that would have been impossible on a traditional slide projector. These effects, or transitions as they're more commonly known can make slide shows that little bit more interesting. Here we give a quick guide to creating a slide show with transitions in MGI Photosuite 4.
1. The first step is to tell Photosuite that you want to create a Slide Show, so select File>New> SlideShow...
2. Next we can customise the name and details of the show. You may want to increase the slide and transition duration and it's a good idea to tick the box that scales photos to fit the screen.
3. Now we're in the edit area for the slide show. Ignore the number 1 option for now, and click on the Add Photos... in number 2, (We've highlighted this with a red arrow). You'll then be presented with a box where you can load photos from your computer, or several other areas.
4. When you've selected the photos in Step 3 they will appear in the main program, with small thumbnails along the bottom. We now need to select the transitions. To do this click where the red arrow points on the illustration above, and select Transitions. This will create a vertical list of transition effects in the libary part of the program on the right-hand side.
5. To add one of the transition effects to your slide show you need to click on it and drag it to the space between the two slides you want the effect to appear. In the example above we can see where you need to drag the effect to for it to work.
Having followed these steps you should simply need to press play on the slide show controls for it to work. If you have any problems, please ask in the software section of our forum.
