Cullmann say that they have designed the bag so that it can be used for commuting or leisure pursuits - it's trendy, and can fit a fair amount of kit, a DSLR with lens attached, 4 spare lenses and accessories.

Cullmann Bristol DayPack 600+ Features, Handling & Performance

The Cullmann Bristol DayPack 600+ has rear access to the main camera compartment (as well as a side access pocket for the camera and lens) for security. This means that when the bag is worn there's no way to get into the whole of the main compartment, giving you peace of mind on the go.

The side access is on the left-hand side, and above this is a small vertical zip giving access to the top compartment. On the right-hand side there's an elasticated mesh pocket and a strap to enable you to secure a tripod to the bag. On the bottom, there's a waterproof tarpaulin material to add robustness.

There are two well-padded and adjustable shoulder straps which feature a clip for stability, and there's a seatbelt-material carry handle that feels pretty robust. The top flap features a zip at the back allowing you to stow small accessories within it.

Underneath the flap, there's a drawstring top giving access to a roomy compartment with a zipped compartment and elasticated pockets on the back wall. There's also a notebook/laptop compartment on the front wall. There's a removable divider that can be taken out when you're not using the bag for photography kit.

On the front there's a padded zipped pocket which has space for stationery and small accessories. A rain cover is also included.

Key Features

  • Space for a DSLR, 3-4 lenses and accessories
  • Waterproof cover flap
  • Side and rear access to main compartment
  • Real leather buckles and zip pullers
  • Can hold a tripod on the side

Handling & Performance

The bag feels well made, and the shoulder straps and back are very well padded with mesh. The kit compartment isn't removable, but is well padded on both the walls and dividers. On the rear of the main compartment flap there are small velcro pockets for memory cards, which are very handy.

The bag is quite large and square, maximising the amount you can carry, yet despite this it sits well on the back and is comfy to wear. We really like the addition of the buckles - the vintage style of the bag makes it a little different to what else is currently available.

It would be nice to see a removable camera compartment, but otherwise the bag is extremely well equipped for the price and size.

Value For Money

The Cullmann Bristol DayPack 600+ is available from £59 on Amazon UK, depending on the colour you want. This makes it excellent value for money, considering both the size of the bag and the great build quality.

A similar bag in terms of size and capacity is the Tenba Skyline 13, however this is more expensive, at £88.68.

In terms of what you get for the money, Cullmann are generally really hard to beat.
