Damian McGillicuddy 'Big Dog - Guide to Photography' App: McGillicuddy app

The 'Big Dog - Guide to Photography' app is now available in the Apple App store.

The app contains photographic tutorials written by Damian, containing pictures shot both in the studio and out on location. The app comes with one tutorial package already loaded; this being Damian’s first book 'Down and Dirty - Volume 1'.

Tutorial package updates, that will be available through in app purchase, will be made available and the App also contains the 'Studio Maker', something which Team McGillicuddy are calling the 'go to feature for creating lighting diagrams that you can save to your camera roll for future reference'.

Damian McGillicuddy said: "We are all extremely proud to be able to say that we have our very own app available for download on the app store. A lot of hard work has been put in to creating the app, and we would just like to say a very big thank you to the team for all of the work that they have put in over the last few months.

We will be working hard to keep our app up to date and innovative. If there are any features that you would like to see built in to the 'Big Dog - Guide to Photography' please let us know."

The app, priced at £14.99, can be downloaded here: 'Big Dog - Guide To Photography'

I've been a big fan of Damian's work for a long time. I try to go to one of his seminars at the SWPP in London every year and find his talks entertaining, amusing and educational and been looking to get this app. I've a strong passion for all genre of photography and I practice in portrait, wedding and model portfolios. I'm always willing to learn from the masters and have a number of apps from photographers on my iPad and books on lighting ( still waiting to see Damian's book ) So what do I think of this app.? Theres a few bugs that need to be fixed 1 you can't enlarge the images 2 where do the diagrams go when they're saved ,, I also tried to enlarge the picture in the usual 'Apple way'. I was expecting to see a few video clips, perhaps taken from his seminars. There's certainly potential and I know Damian jots down all his lighting setups so it would be great to see more of his work, his sketches and his thinking behind the shots, just a shame I've just brought a magazine for a third of the price with Damian's work.
