An image of a dancer holding a smoke grenade has been chosen to win the Photo of the Week accolade this week.

The image, by ePz member karen1961, is titled 'Dancer' and here's why we thought it deserved to win the accolade this week: 

This is a beautifully timed image, capturing the dancer mid-jump as she swirls around with the smoke grenade billowing out red smoke. The trail of the grenade smoke shows the path of the dancer, to the moment of the freeze frame. 

The almost-square crop gives the dancer plenty of breathing space, and portrays the vastness of the space that she is dancing in. The stairs at the back and the shutter to the left both work together to lead the eye to the centre of the action.
