It's time to announce the winners of June's 'Weather' competition, where there were 4 copies of Nik Collection 3 software up for grabs courtesy of DxO.

The weather here in the UK has certainly been variable recently, from blazing sunshine last week to unsettled and overcast more recently. This is captured in the sheer variety of weather-themed images you've entered. We were blown away (see what we did there?) by your entries and it was really hard to choose only 4 winners.

In the end, the following images were chosen:

sherlob - Lightning strikes

This is a very moody, atmospheric image that really captures the foreboding essence of the storm. The image has been exposed really well in order to capture not one, but two lightning forks at the same time - one streaking across the sky and the other hitting the land. An amazing photo to behold.

Hemsleyphoto - Black and white misty forest

We really like the still serene calmness captured in this photo. The mist is lying low amongst the trees, creating a mystical look and feel. The image really suits black and white, allowing you to focus on the textures of the pine trees without being distracted by colour.

stevenb - Icicles under bridge

We love how the bridge in this photo has been used to frame the scene. The icicles hanging from the tunnel roof are what make it special, bringing home how cold it must have been. The road leads the eye through the image to the farm buildings beyond nicely as well.

James_C - Power station silhouette

This image has the wonderful deep, vibrant orange shades that we associate with high summer. The colours are also reflected in the water, which balances the scene well. The power station in silhouette is really effective, providing lots of interesting abstract shapes making for a great skyline.
