Press Release: Energy Elite printer from Agfa Graphics

:Energy Elite is a high speed, high quality aluminium thermal plate designed for long press runs without baking. The plate can provide up to 500,000 impressions without baking (up to a million with post-baking), using an advanced, patented emulsion technology that tolerates variations in exposure and processing. It has excellent chemical resistance and delivers superb press performance with a wide variety of inks, including UV and hybrid.

"With :Energy Elite plates, we have increased our quality, and our customers can see the difference. One of our magazine clients even thought we had started to run their magazine on our sheetfed press," commented Timothy Adorno, plant manager of William George Printing in Fayetteville, North Carolina. "Nothing is more important for us than a satisfied customer, and Agfa's :Energy Elite plates play a major role in our success."

"We are very pleased, especially as Agfa was the only company awarded for a CtP product," said Richard Hill, Agfa's Worldwide Marketing Manager. ":Energy Elite takes thermal plate technology to new levels of performance. The plate market is highly competitive, which makes this honour particularly satisfying. The real winners here are the printers who can now combine ultimate plate quality with ultimate press durability and performance."

Eleven print technologies were singled out to receive InterTech Technology Awards. They will be presented during the PIA/GATF Fall Administrative Meetings being held from November 8-11 in Chicago.
