"I got into photography from seeing my Dad take pictures," says Angej. "I thought I'd like to try it and see if I could take a decent image. It took a while believe me!"
So what makes a landscape photographer? Well, Angej thinks that it is more about the person behind the equipment than the equipment itself: "To me landscape photography isn't rocket science, it's all about having an eye for an image not the latest gear or even in-depth knowledge of the subject. It's all about the light and this combined with a good composition can make even the simplest image stunning."

You don't have to be a Photoshop wizard, either, to create stunning shots, as Angej explains: "Photoshop isn't a strong factor for me. I like to get it right in-camera first and then make only minor adjustments."
As Angei said, a lot of alterations can be made in camera, so that minimal processing is required, making workflow a lot easier at the computer stage for the photographer.
So, what equipment does Angej use to take such great landscape shots? "I have a Nikon D3000, 10-20mm lens which hardly ever leaves the camera and a series of filters, mainly ND grads," explains Angej. "I use Nikon just because my Dad uses Nikon but I do particularly like the large back screen my camera has."

So out of all the forms of photography, what is it about landscape photography Angej enjoys the most? "I just love the peace and quiet of the landscape," Angej explains. " I mainly shoot first or last light and there is nothing so calming as being on a deserted beach at sunrise with the elements playing ball."
