What does this mean for current e2 members?

Everyone who's currently e2 will be moved to the new Plus membership automatically.

What does this mean for free members?

The following features will now be available to all members:

  • Photo versions
  • Ad-free profile

It means that if you have uploaded the full-size photo to ephotozine, you can now download it from ePHOTOzine. Pretty handy if you have misplaced the original file.

Yep, up to a few years ago. Go to your photo and if you see a 'Download Original' option in the Options menu, then the original upload is available to download.

Phew !!!!.....that's a lot to take in ?.Grin.....lots of extras, so should help boost the paying members !

Like the extra UA's allowed to 4 per day !!......always been a bit frustrating when I see more than
one outstanding image, yet could only commend just one...so that's very welcome !!

It's going to be slow going remembering all the new stuff ?....I have to refer to the TV Times to
remember what perishing day it is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!.......it's a 'senior-moment' thing !.GrinGrin

Nice one EPZ team !!!!.Smile

More likely the reduction of cost to £15 per annum rather than the extras !

It's unfortunate that the change couldn't have been rolled out a bit earlier as members who received free e2 as part of the Christmas Day gift would have had a bit longer to sample the updated plus but now at half price of the old e2 it should tempt more members into joining. Smile

I'm assuming that free members can now upload larger photos as well as view larger ones or is this still restricted to 600 pixels.

Well done to all at ephotozine!!!

It hasn't been restricted for the last 2 years or so. You can upload any size you want, the site decides which sizes you get to see it at.

As a free member I have always ( I think ) been able to view larger photos.

Is this new feature really mean that our own photos will now be viewable at a larger size ?

I haven't uploaded a photo today and yet I'm being blocked with message only one upload per day allowed

Previously, free members could only view photos up to the size of 600px, while paid members could see 1000px size photos. Since Christmas, we have given everyone 1 month free paid membership. This is coming to an end tonight. However, as viewing large photos is a free feature now, this will still continue to be available.

From what I have read, my understanding is that my e2 switches to to Plus membership which includes a free Foliopic standard website. If that is the case, can I have a refund please for the renewal I paid yesterday for my standard Foliopic page. Apologies if I have misunderstood.

Hi Nigel,

When you purchase Plus Membership, you will be given a voucher code for your free foliopic website. This voucher code can also be used to extend an existing foliopic account. If you have further questions about your foliopic account, I'd suggest you contact foliopic support.

I hope that helps.

Dave!!

Just as a point of interest what effect will this have on the foliopic website, especially the foliopic lite website option?

I mean that anybody can join ephotozine and become a plus member for £15 which will include a £34 foliopic standard website for free. That's a £19 saving. Good for increasing the amount of ephotozine users I guess but will anyone buy this option straight from the foliopic website again?

The same applies to the foliopic lite option at £19. It would not be worth signing up to this as for £4 less someone can buy ephotozine plus membership and get the standard website.

Is this going to have any detrimental knock-on effects to foliopic including reducing revenue?

I'm not actually intending to let the cat out of the bag.......

Hi Eddie,

You're right, there are some great offers here to have! I don't think anyone has too much to worry about as from what I hear, foliopic has a few new developments up it's sleeve which should increase revenue.

Thanks Dave!! That's good to hear. It was something that I was thinking about. We shall have to keep an eye on ephotozine's close relative now. Smile
