Epson printers

Epson has announced the L355 and L555 printers, which use refillable tanks rather than print cartridges.

Both printers have an ink reservoir, allowing them to print 4000 pages in black and white and 6500 in colour using one fill. The printers are the first of their kind in Britain, and it will only cost £8 to refill the printers with Epson's own ink.

The L355 and L555 are refilled with ink bottles, and the L555 also features fast ink top up technology for easy and mess free refills. A choke valve allows you to lock the ink system during transport, minimising leaks and ink wastage.

These printers feature Wi-Fi capabilities with Epson print, allowing you to print directly from your iOS or Android smartphone.

The Epson L555 is now available for £329.99, while the L355 is available for £249.99. For more information, take a look at the Epson website

Getting away from the throwaway society where a printer has become cheaper than its refill inks. Excellent news, though I foresee a low-ish take up as Joe public won't pay for quality up front. When I compare the cost of these to my first dot matrix printer, even without inflation, these are a bargain. Shame I've just bought a laser.

When they produce a higher speck printer like this that prints as good as my Epson r3000, I'll buy it..
I don't mind if it's dye ink either as long as photo prints are Great.
