POTW Accolade Awarded To Ethereal Portrait

A beautifully eerie image of a woman floating underwater has been awarded the POTW accolade this week. 

The image, titled 'Flowing' by 6x4_photography was chosen by the team and here's why we thought it deserved to win the award: 

This is an interestingly lit image with some odd shadowing, but it all made sense once we realised that what we were actually looking at was an outstanding underwater image.

The posing makes it look as if the woman is floating, with the billowing dress making some interesting abstract shapes. The choice of monochrome gives the image a classical feel and the lighting has been used well to highlight her features but the water also creates abstract lines on the body which add to the overall eerie effect.
