Pentax K-50 Photography Blog

Hi everybody! Firstly, let me introduce myself. My name's Emma and I'm an Editorial Assistant here at ePz.

Before I started working here I had very little real photography knowledge, and although I've picked up bits and bobs here and there, I would by no means consider myself an expert. 

Pentax has kindly given me a Pentax K-50 DSLR to play with over the next few months, and I'm going to create a weekly article about using the camera and its features, and my progress in photography. It'll be a learning journey for me, and will also enable me to review the camera along the way, from the perspective of a beginner. 

So, why the K-50? Well, having used advanced compacts before and got to grips with manual settings a little, I felt the next logical step would be to move to a DSLR and see how I get on. The K-50 is marketed as Pentax's entry level DSLR, so should be pretty easy to find my way around. 

Having received the camera and had a play around, my first impressions are quite good. The camera feels solid and well built, and fits nicely in the hand. It's quite compact for a DSLR, and controls seem well placed for ease of operation.
