An eyecatching landscape including a red shed has been awarded the POTW accolade this week.
| ePHOTOzineAn eye-catching image of a landscape including a red shed has been awarded the Photo of the Week accolade this week.
The image, taken by member Daffy1 is entitled 'That Red Shed!' and here's why we thought it deserved to win the accolade:
This image stood out to us as a landscape with something a little unusual as a focal point. We have the contrast between the baron, desolate mountains and windswept foreground and the presence of this human structure that stands out like a sore thumb against the muted blue and earthy tones of the surroundings.
The shutter speed used has frozen the wind kicking up the fine snow laying on the ground - you can almost feel the cold radiating out of the photo. The roof of the house almost points up to the textures and tones of the moody mountains in the background.
Rule of thirds has been used well here to position the shed in a pleasing position within the frame. The tall twigs of the remaining plants on the left-hand side add further interest and serve to lead your eye across the image.
Winners of the Photo of the Week accolade currently receive a 32GB EVO MicroSDHC card with SD adapter courtesy of Samsung. See all the images that have been awarded the accolade in the POTW gallery.
