ExperimentalOptics have gained well over their funding goal on Kickstarter to bring an f/0.75 50mm portrait lens to life.
The lens would be the world's fastest photographic lens with a Leica M mount. This full frame portrait lens is designed to allow the user "To wallow in creamy, soft, millimetre-thin Bokeh. To creatively isolate an image detail. To make backgrounds and foregrounds vanish into dreamy hazes of colour", say ExperimentalOptics.
They also claim that the lens will fit a full frame camera without any vignetting. It can also be fitted to Sony Alpha NEX, Fuji X, Canon EF-M, Leica T, Leica SL and MFT mounts using an adapter.
Manufactured by The Oude Delft, a highly acclaimed optics company from the Netherlands, ExperimentalOptics then fit them with an M mount bayonet. As well as being the world's fastest lens, it's also one of the rarest, and has a price tag of 2420 Euros.
