DxO PhotoLab 2.1 brings improved performance, file indexing for Mac users and additional camera support.
| Other Software
When DxO first introduced PhotoLab, the successor to OpticsPro, they promised continued improvements would arrive periodically and they are sticking to their promise as the latest update is now available.
With the latest version (PhotoLab 2.1), DxO continues to improve its image management system and has introduced support for the Nikon Z7, Fujifilm X-A5 and the DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone (the zoom version will be supported very soon). The software also supports the NIKKOR Z 24-70mm f/4 S and the NIKKOR F FX lens, which have already been calibrated. The NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.8 S and NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.8 S modules will be available in early 2019.
Those who use the software on Macs will also be happy to hear that a file indexing feature (previously only available for Windows) has been added to their version of the software, too.
DxO PhotoLab 2.1 has improved its image management system by optimising its database architecture so searches are faster. Plus, the Windows version of the software now offers a more detailed search history feature and any image searches are now saved/made available with just one click, even if a new user session is opened.
For Nikon Z6, Canon EOS R, EOS M50, Fujifilm GFX (50r) users, DxO says support for these cameras will be available soon along with support for the modules from the range of autofocus lenses specifically designed for the Hasselblad X1D coming in the near future.
DxO PhotoLab 2 users can download this update for free directly from DxO.
For those who haven't used DxO PhotoLab 2 before, a fully-functional, one-month trial version of DxO PhotoLab 2 is also available for download.
DxO PhotoLab is available for Mac and PC on DxO's online store for £99 for the ESSENTIAL edition and £159 for the ELITE edition, which offers additional features such as PRIME and DxO Smart Lighting.
