Adobe has announced a new version of Adobe Camera Raw, due to be released shortly.

Update 9.1.1 will be the final ACR update for Adobe CS6 users. It will include the latest camera Raw and lens profiles up to the point in time that it's released. If you are a Photoshop CS6 user and get a new camera not covered in update version 9.1.1, then to work with its raw images you'll have to convert them into DNG format.

Unfortunately DNG Converter doesn't have lens profile corrections, so CS6 users won't have access to any new lens corrections added after the final 9.1.1 update.

Adobe said: "In order to pursue further innovations in image processing and workflow technology, the next release of Adobe Camera Raw (v 9.1.1) will be the final version available for use with CS6. Customers can utilize the free Adobe DNG Converter utility to receive the very latest camera support for CS6 and older versions of our software going all the way back to Photoshop CS2 and Lightroom 1.0."

If you're a subscriber to Adobe Creative Cloud, you will continue to to receive the latest ACR updates for the duration of your subscription.
