Flickr's top ten images of 2016 have been revealed and a sunrise over the Portuguese Aveira lagoon has taken the number 1 spot.
| Industry NewsFlickr has joined the likes of National Geographic and TIME in revealing what they believe to be the top images of 2016.
Taking the top spot in Flickr's top ten is a beautiful sunrise view of the Portuguese Aveira lagoon titled: 'Cuando amanece la pasión'. Second place went to a 'lonely tree of Wanaka' captured in New Zealand and pink sunrise breaking behind a mist road lined with trees was the theme for 'Zig Zag' which took third place.
This top 10 photos list was compiled using an algorithm that measures social and engagement metrics, alongside careful curation of the images from Flickr staff.
In terms of Britain’s favourite photography, Flickr curated a list of the top 10 geotagged photos, with the number one spot going to the Porthcawl lighthouse in Wales, and South Devon sunsets as well as London street photography also making an appearance.
