The Samsung 18-200mm lens is a 11.1x zoom optic that provides and angle of view equivalent to a 27-300mm lens on a 35mm camera.
It includes optical image stabilization and the i-Function button covered in a previous article. The lens has a minimum focus distance of 50cm, which is fairly typical of lenses of this length.
The lens is great for getting out and about with your camera without the need to change lenses to reach further - with a range that covers 18-200mm, the lens is perfectly capable of capturing wide landscape vistas, portraits at mid range and also those further away subjects such as wildlife at 200mm.

It has a good build quality, effective optical image stabiliser and low distortion, as well as excellent sharpness in the centre at 18mm. It will no doubt make a great companion for anyone with a Smart NX camera who wants a wide reaching, lightweight lens.
