Samsung S 16-50mm Lens Focus

Samsung's S 16-50mm f/2-2.8 ED OIS lens received a 4 out of 5 star 'Recommended' rating in our review. Here, we find out more about the lens and what it's best used for. 

The Samsung S 16-50mm is a standard zoom lens for NX system cameras. It has a variable maximum aperture and Optical Image Stabilisation. It features a virtually silent and lightning fast autofocus system, that can lock onto static subjects almost instantly. 

With the closest focussing distance at 30cm, the lens can be used for macro work, as well as portraits, and landscapes making it an ideal all-rounder. The zoom range will enable you to crop out any unwanted parts of the image at the edge of the frame by zooming in slightly. 

The S 16-50mm is a premium optic and as such performs as a premium lens should, with very low levels of falloff illumination, meaning the corners of your images will only be 0.858 stops darker than the image centre at 16mm and f/2, which is very impressive. 

The lens has excellent sharpness in the centre, and when stopped down. Featuring low distortion levels, a very good build quality and fast and silent autofocus this is a lens that will be a valuable addition to the NX system photographer's kit.
