Lens Focus: Tamron 16-300mm f/3.5-6.3 Di II VC PZD Macro Lens

Tamron's new 16-300mm lens is classed as a 'super-zoom', thanks to its super long 18.8x zoom reach. The lens also has vibration compensation, a silent Piezo drive focusing motor and a splashproof construction. 

The lens weighs 540g, making it light and compact compared to other lenses available of a similar zoom range. It's ideal for use as a  walkabout lens for times that you want to travel light, using just one lens. It balances well on even the smallest DSLR cameras. 

Tamron's effective vibration compensation system allows you to shoot at roughly 5 stops slower than what the normal rule of thumb would allow, making it easier to get those important shots even if you don't have a tripod. 

The lens features excellent sharpness in the centre, an effective vibration compensation system, good build quality, and is able to focus very close for a lens that covers up to 300mm focal range. It's good value for money too, making it ideal for anyone looking to buy an all round lens for travelling light.
