FotoInsight Calendar Review

FotoInsight offer an online photo print service and they create several photo products, including calendars, photo books and mugs, as well as photo prints.



For this review, we've created two calendars: an A4 Photo Wall Calendar and more interestingly a Chocolate Advent Calendar which features wrapped continental chocolates behind its doors. FotoInsight Photo Products - Features / Handling / Ease of Use

You create FotoInsight's personalisable photo products online, through their website. The online editor is extremely easy to use but when compared to companies of a similar nature, FotoInsight's software doesn't offer quite as many creative options. For example, you can't customise the layouts, you can only rotate, zoom or move the image by clicking on the edit icon. This, however, isn't necessarily a bad thing as people who want to simply create a basic, personalised photo product or those who aren't so tech-savy will find the options offered sufficient.

You have to upload all the photos you want to use to the site which, if you have a slow internet speed, can take some time. Once you've done this, you simply drag and drop the images on to the pages you want them to appear. You move through the months by clicking on the relevant name and the software will tell you if the quality of an image is good enough by placing a green, yellow, or red face on it in the bottom corner.



The novel Chocolate Advent Calendar is created in the same way, although you can only use one image which the software wraps around the template to demonstrate how it will look once constructed.

Text can be added to the Chocolate Advent as well as some of the other calendars available. To add text, simply click the text tab, type out your message and make any changes to the font, colour, size and alignment you wish before clicking OK.


Once you're happy, you click the 'Next Step: Add to Shopping Basket' icon which allows you to preview your product before adding it to your shopping basket.

FotoInsight Photo Products – Performance

Delivery was quick, only taking six days for both products to arrive and they were protected well in a large envelope and a box.




The material used to create the products is of a good quality with the A4 calendar featuring a protective cover which is a nice touch. The images are reproduced well and the advent calendar features a stand which you can prop the product up with, again, a nice touch.

FotoInsight Photo Products – Value for money

Both calendars are good value for money, particularly the advent calendar which is a unique gift that children and adults will appreciate receiving. The prices don't really differ from others available on the market though so it's worth considering the pros and cons of each of the sites you're considering using to see which is best for you.

FotoInsight Photo Products – Verdict

With easy to use software, FotoInsight give even those who don't really use computers that much chance to create a personalised photo product in a quick and easy way. The overall products are of good quality and even though the layouts are basic, the overall design, when complete, looks great. However, if you're looking for a product you have more design control over and don't want to be limited to just one space you can drag and drop images into, you may want to consider looking at other sites that offer these services.
