100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG OS HSM C

Sigma has announced 4 new lenses at CP+ 2017 in Japan.

The new lenses consist of 3 Art and 1 Contemporary. The widest of the bunch is the Sigma 14mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art, which Sigma say is the world's first f/1.8 wide angle lens. The lens also has the largest glass mould in the industry, at 80mm. This gives an ultra-wide prime with hardly any distortion, flare or ghosting. The lens also has a superfast AF system.

The Sigma 135mm f/1.8 DG HSM Art is also an f/1.8 lens and is set to be Sigma's premiere mid-range telephoto prime lens. The wide aperture makes it ideal for shallow depth of field images and isolation of subjects, whether shooting close-up or far away. It has a new HSM (Hyper Sonic Motor) providing a faster and more responsive AF. It is also equipped with a focus limiter.

A 24-70mm f/2.8 DG HSM OS Art was also introduced. This lens has a brand new OS and is dubbed as a 'workhorse' due to its versatile focal range. It has Sigma's groundbreaking thicker centre glass design and is made with a highly precise polishing process. It has a new metal lens barrel and TSC composite internal moving components designed to resist thermal contraction and expansion.

Finally, the Sigma 100-400mm f/5-6.3 DG HSM OS Contemporary has outstanding reach and performance value. It features a lightweight, compact, dustproof and splashproof design. With the new Sigma OS and AF, the lens works exceptionally well at lower shutter speeds. The lens also boasts Sigma's unique macro function (1:3.8 ratio) making it great for close up and distance shots alike.

All the new lenses are available in Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts and also work with Sigma's MC-11 Sony E-Mount converter.

Update: The 100-400mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM will be available from April for £799.99 (include VAT). The 14mm f/1.8 will be available for £1679.99 from July. The 24-70mm f/2.8 will be available for £1399.99 from July.
