Foxes, Nellie Bell And The Honor 7 Smartphone

There is a new talent in town in the form of a phone - the Honor 7 from Huawei. The launch party for this release in the UK was a massive event and themed on seven senses the phone might help you develop. One of those senses was 'developed' by us listening to great live music from several acts including Nellie Bell, a superb artist with real energy and passion for her music which is hard to categorise but covers Jazz, Pop and Soul but is very enjoyable all the same.

Nellie played two major sets during the Honor 7 afternoon and evening event and kept guests entertained with her own catalogue of songs as well as one written especially for the Honor 7 release, she was a true showwoman.

The phone itself was why I was there for ePHOTOzine, particularly the phones 20Mp f/2.0 camera. The Honor 7's specs include a focusing speed of 1/10th of a second, and dual-LED (dual tone) flash for better colour flash photos. Camera modes offer the user simple ways of shooting slow shutter, panorama, time lapse & HDR. Light trails and focus points are added after in software if you take a few similar pictures. There were an awful lot of press and gadget people invited to the event and they really went to town on inspecting the phone and listening to the launch talks. They are much more qualified than me to review the specific phone details and the strategic direction of this product; Though I'd say it is a good value creative phone that looks slick and feels nice in the hand.

The main headline act that night was 'Foxes' and as this phone and the new vMall app store could be easily targeted at those just out of college, these were a notable fan contingent for foxes and her two band members. Foxes started her set with a few casual songs that certainly had her fan base draw around her to share in the atmosphere as the evening settled down.

Also performing during the evening were 'team extreme' - a collective of experts in their field who perform excellent trick rides on scooters, BMX bikes and in-line skates. Also, to celebrate the fingerprint reading capability of the Honor 7 phone, a lady named Jane was there who read fingers in the way that palm readers read hands.

As well as the Honor 7, the Honor 7i was also announced last month featuring a 13-megapixel flippable camera and ePHOTOzine reviewed the Honor 6+ Smartphone, too.
