The Fujifilm X-T30 II brings an updated rear LCD panel, fast and accurate AF system and 4K/30P high-quality video recording.
| Fujifilm X-T30 II in Mirrorless CamerasFollowing on from the introduction of the Fujifilm GFX 50S II, Fujifilm has also announced that version two of the X-T30 will be available later this year.
The X-T30 II looks very much like the original X-T30, even the badge doesn't have 'II' on it, and the only physical difference between the two cameras is the 1.62-million-dot LCD monitor on the rear panel. There are, of course, internal differences and additions which are listed below that make the X-T30 II an entry-level camera with flagship specs.
The X-T30 II will be available in black or silver from October 2021 priced at £769 body only. Two kit options will also be available with the XC 15-45mm f/2.5-5.6 OIS PZ (£849) or the XF 18-55mm f/2.8-4 R LM OIS (£1099).

From Fujifilm UK:
FUJIFILM Corporation (President: Teiichi Goto) is pleased to announce that the “FUJIFILM X-T30 II” (X-T30 II) will be released in October 2021. It will be a new addition to the X Series of mirrorless digital cameras known for their compact and lightweight body and superior image quality based on the company’s proprietary colour reproduction technology.
The new product inherits the compact and lightweight camera body, popular with the “FUJIFILM X-T30” (the previous model), but delivers high-speed AF performance and image quality equivalent to the flagship model, “FUJIFILM X-T4” (X-T4). The X-T30 II features a high-resolution 1.62-million-dot LCD monitor on the rear panel, an upgrade from the previous model, to achieve evolution in both hardware and software.
In its compact body that weighs just 378g, the X-T30 II features devices that boast the highest performance in the history of the X Series, namely the 26.1MP X-Trans™ CMOS 4 sensor and the high-speed X-Processor 4 image processing engine, to achieve AF performance equivalent to the significantly evolved flagship model, X-T4. The fast and highly-accurate AF with the focusing speed as fast as 0.02 seconds is complemented with exceptional capability to track a moving subject, capturing a decisive photo opportunity in a wide variety of shooting situations. The new camera can also use phase-detection AF in near darkness conditions at -7.0EV to accurately capture a subject in low light and indoors, and supports high-speed video recording at smooth and tonality-rich 4K/30P and full-HD/240P modes.
The X-T30 II comes with 18 Film Simulation modes, including “Classic Neg,” ideal for street photography, and “ETERNA Bleach Bypass,” which faithfully simulates the film processing technique of the same name. The expanded lineup allows users to choose the mode that suits each situation.
The algorithm for the popular “AUTO” mode has been updated. The camera automatically identifies the type of shooting scenes based on whether there are people in the frame and other data such as color information and light source distance, and applies the latest image processing technology to adjust settings to optimum options, making it easy to obtain beautiful pictures. Users no longer have to fiddle with detailed settings while the camera switches to clear and vivid settings for landscapes, provides beautiful skin tone while accentuating blue skies and nature in the background for portraiture, and controlling highlight and shadow clippings even in back-lit situations.
Fast and highly-accurate AF performance and advanced burst shooting capability to capture a decisive photo moment in a variety of situations
- The X-T30 II is equipped with the 26.1MP “X-Trans™ CMOS 4” sensor and the high-speed image processing engine “X-Processor 4” to enable advanced phase-detection AF across the frame (approximately 100%). The X Series’ fastest AF speed of 0.02 seconds is coupled with an impressive AF tracking performance to capture decisive photo opportunities.
- The camera delivers blackout-free burst shooting*2 at up to 8fps in the mechanical shutter mode and up to 30fps in the electronic shutter mode.
- The camera can also use phase-detection AF in near darkness conditions at -7.0EV*1 to accurately capture a subject in low light and dark rooms.
- The AF system uses the latest algorithm to achieve improved AF ability to accurately track a moving subject compared to the previous model. It can precisely track a subject that is moving toward and even moving away from the camera. Its Face / Eye AF function keeps a subject’s face / eyes in focus even in portrait photography that involves subject movements.
Diverse Film Simulations and evolved AUTO function to deliver exceptional image quality
- The X-T30 II comes with 18 Film Simulations that simulate unique sets of colors, tonality and saturation levels, including “Classic Neg.” based on color negative films typically used in snapshots capturing day-to-day scenes, and “ETERNA Bleach Bypass,” which faithfully simulates the film processing technique of the same name. The expanded lineup allows users to choose the mode that suits each situation, as if swapping to a different photo film in the old days.
- The algorithm for the popular “AUTO” mode, which automatically adjusts settings to suit each scene, has been updated, further improving the picture quality it produces compared to the previous model. The mode automatically applies the Color Chrome Effect (blue), Clarity, D Range Priority and other settings according to a given condition, making landscapes clearer and more vivid, reproducing beautiful skin tone while accentuating blue skies and natural background in portraiture, and controlling highlight and shadow clippings in back-lit situations. The camera’s AUTO function makes it easier than ever to obtain beautiful pictures optimized for individual conditions.
Extensive video-recording functions
The X-T30 II uses the amount of data equivalent to 6K to generate 4K video to assure high resolution. The camera can output 4K/30P video at 8 bit 4:2:0 onto an SD card, and 4K/30P video at 10 bit 4:2:2 to HDMI. Furthermore, it now supports Full HD/240P high-speed video, capable of replaying a momentary action of a fast-moving subject in slow motion in up to 10x.
Excellent operability to meet a wide range of needs
- The camera caters to a wide range of shooting styles including a full-scale manual shooting using the shutter speed dial on the top panel, and quick snaps in the AUTO mode. The shutter speed dial allows users to check a current setting visually, so that they can prepare for the next shots even while the camera is turned off. The AUTO mode can be activated with a single-action operation of the Auto Mode Selector lever on the camera body’s top panel.
- The new high-definition 1.62-million-dot LCD displays a subject in amazing clarity.
