Fujifilm FinePix Z110 Handling
The Z110 has an extremely small body, an ideal size for your pocket or handbag, and has a metal front. To switch the camera on you simply slide the panel down on the front, this also acts as a lens cover when switched off. On top of the camera you'll find a zoom rocket, shutter release and movie record button. On the rear is a d-pad with playback, display / back and share buttons. The buttons on the rear are lit up by a blue LED light, making them easy to see in dark places. The screen is fairly small, with a modest resolution, but is easy to view in varying light. The menu system is well laid out and simple to navigate. Battery life is rated at 220 shots according to CIPA test results, we were able to take just short of 250 shots before the battery went flat.
We took a number of shots to test the camera's responsiveness, from switch on to first photo, shot to shot, focusing speed etc. We take a number of shots and then use the average to ensure accurate and consistent tests, making it easy to compare with other cameras.
Shutter Response | 0.1 secs
Wide - Focus / Shutter Response | 0.35 secs
Full zoom - Focus / Shutter Response | 0.5 secs
Switch on Time to Taking a Photo | 2.65 secs
Shot to Shot without Flash | 2.6 secs
Shot to Shot with Flash | 3.4 secs
Continuous Shooting | 0.66 fps |
Continuous shooting records at full resolution, but is limited to just three shots. In low light the focusing really struggles.

Fujifilm FinePix Z110 Performance
Additional sample photos and product shots are available in the Equipment Database, where you can add your own review, photos and product ratings.Fujifilm FinePix Z110 Sample Photos
Sample Photos - Colour reproduction is fairly good but some of our test shots were underexposed. Portrait shots have decent skin tones and are free of red-eye when using the flash. When shooting moving subjects, such as pets, we found that the digital image stabilisation struggled to cope leading to more blurry photos than we would have liked.
Fujifilm FinePix Z110 Lens test images
Lens Performance - Image detail is OK for a budget camera, but quality does reduce a little when using the zoom at its longest. Purple fringing and chromatic aberration is common, which can be seen very clearly in our ISO test shots below. The lens has a minimum focusing distance of 9cm which does allow for a decent macro shot.
Fujifilm FinePix Z110 ISO test images
ISO Noise Performance - Although images are free of noise at ISO 100, there is some at ISO 200, with images becoming softer at ISO 400. Images are a little softer at ISO 800 with detail lost at ISO 1600. Lots of detail is lost at ISO 3200 and is best avoided unless absolutely necessary.
Fujifilm FinePix Z110 White-balance test images
White Balance Performance - Under the incandescent lights, the AWB struggled a little with the incandescent preset performing much better. Under the fluorescent lights, the AWB and fluorescent presets all struggled, with colour casts appearing in all of the images.

Panorama | 1/640 sec | f/3.9 | 5.0 mm | ISO 100
Panorama mode - Panoramas have a decent amount of detail and are well stitched together.
Fujifilm FinePix Z110 Digital filters
Digital Filters - There are four colour modes to add a touch of creativity to your images, with examples of each above.
Video - Below is a video recorded in 720p HD. You can use the optical zoom during recording, an example of which can be found on the ePHOTOzine Youtube Page.

Fujifilm FinePix Z110 Verdict
The Fujifilm FinePix Z110 is clearly designed for the younger generation who want to take pictures of themselves and their friends to share on Facebook. Image quality is good enough for sharing on the web and colour reproduction is also good. Unfortunately during testing we had problems focusing in low light and many of our photos were blurry.Fujifilm FinePix Z110 Pros
