We've started our review of the Fujifilm GFX100, the 100mp medium format mirrorless camera from Fujifilm. Here are some of the first sample photos we've taken with the camera, and we'll be adding more as we take them. 

The GFX 100 offers a 100mp BSI CMOS medium format sensor, 4K/30p video recording, in-body image stabilisation (sensor-shift), and phase-detection built-in to the sensor. The camera is available for pre-order for £9999 body only (inc VAT).

Be warned, the full-size 100 megapixel JPEG images are between 42MB and 64MB, so if you have a slow internet connection, you may be waiting a while for the image to download.

Astonishing resolution as could be expected. Likely to be totally unforgiving in regard to technique. E.g. f11 seems here to have given insufficient depth of field for where the point of focus has been set - looking at the top of the coloured pencils there is a blurring and lack of detail (I doubt this is resolution related).

Yes I agree - f/11 isn't enough for that subject. We've added additional photos.

You say that the camera is unforgiving in regard to technique. (And that's certainly true with some subjects) However, what's quite impressive is how successful shots are when simply using the camera out and about. You don't need a tripod, you don't need to double check focus, the camera will focus perfectly time after time, and produce incredibly sharp results shot after shot.

The prvious Fuji medium format cameras were light in weight.
This is large and heavy at 1.4 kg , body only.

100 megapixel?
One may need to buy a server too...
I've found some around 1/10th of the camera price.
