Fujifilm Release New FinePix Compact Cameras

Fujifilm have brought several new FinePix compacts to the camera market.

Fujifilm have added 13 new compact cameras to their FinePix range. In the new compact selection you'll find the FinePix JX550, JX500, JZ200, JZ100, S4500, S4200, SL300, SL240, T400, XP50, XP150, Z110 and Z1000EXR.

Fujifilm have also released the Fujifilm FinePix F660, F770EXR and HS30 EXR. You can find more information about these cameras here:

This year’s new range of ultra-slim FinePix JX models both offer a 5x optical zoom with both 16 and 14 megapixel resolution variants. They feature a 2.7in LCD screen, the cameras can capture video in 720p HD at 30fps and the built-in Motion Panorama mode makes it easy to create sweeping panoramas.

Both the FinePix JX550 and JX500 feature SR Auto mode, which detects the type of scene being photographed and automatically adjusts the camera’s settings to suit. Six different scenes can be detected on this mode that includes: Portrait, Backlit Portrait Macro, Landscape and Night.

The FinePix JZ200 and FinePix JZ100 are the latest models to join the JZ long-zoom compact family.

Both cameras feature a 8x Fujinon lens offering a 25-250mm focal range equivalent to a 35mm camera. They also offer a high ISO sensitivity range (up to ISO 3200*) and Optical Image Stabilisation making shooting in low light situations easier.

The FinePix JZ200 offers a 16 megapixel CCD sensor, and the entry-level FinePix JZ100 has a 14 megapixel CCD sensor. They both also feature a 2.7in LCD screen which has been redesigned so it's brighter than previous models from the JZ range.

The built-in Scene Recognition (SR) Auto mode makes picture taking a breeze as the camera automatically assesses the scene and selects the optimal settings to capture the scene in perfect detail. Scenes that can be automatically recognised by both cameras are Portrait, Landscape, Night, Macro, Night Portrait and Backlit Portrait. If you're photographing a group of people, Fujifilm’s Face Detection can capture up to nine faces in a single scene making it a great camera for families.

For those who like to shoot movies the new compacts can shoot video in 720p HD and feature a dedicated movie recording button.

Both the JZ200 and JZ100 are available in five colours: Black, Silver, Pink, Red and Blue.

The FinePix S4500 and S4200 are the highlight models of the 4 new cameras set to feature in the S-series long-zoom bridge camera range in spring 2012.

The S4500 and S4200 feature high-quality 30x and 24x Fujinon optical zoom lenses, 14Mp sensors and a 3in LCD screen. The new S-series cameras have also been optimised for faster start-up, improved speed of Auto Focus and an upgraded response time. The improved LCD screens have an improved brightness over previous models to ensure details stand out and colours appear more realistic and users can choose to compose their shots via the screen or with the Electronic Viewfinder (EVF).

The S4500 and S4200 offer a Super Macro mode that focuses down to just 2cm for detail-filled close-ups and users can adjust the ISO range from 64 – 6400 when shooting in low-light situations. As well as capturing stills as both Fine and Normal quality JPEGs, the S4500 and S4200 also offer 720p HD movie capture at 30fps.

Face Detection technology is included to automatically lock onto faces appearing in scene, and Fujifilm’s SR Auto modes take the hard work out of the photo taking process. If you want to take control of the picture taking process the new cameras allow you to switch to manual shooting mode, accessed via the mode dial, where you can shoot in shutter priority mode or aperture priority mode. There’s also the option to Date Stamp images so you never forget where you captured your shots.

The new FinePix SL300 and SL240 high-powered premium bridge cameras from Fujifilm feature Fujinon optical zoom lenses, which offer a high-quality 30x and 24x optical zoom. The zoom lenses offer smooth zooming from the wide to telephoto focal lengths and each camera also offers a close-focus distance of 2cm.

Each camera houses a 1/2.3in, 14Mb CCD sensor and offer a maximum ISO rating Of ISO 6400*. For additional illumination, the SL300 and SL240 feature a powerful internal flash that will reach subjects up to 7m away, plus they also have a hot-shoe for connecting separate external flash.

The SL300 and SL240 feature a 3in LCD screen that offers 460,000 dots and an ultra-wide 160 degree viewing angle. The cameras also have Electronic Viewfinders (EVF) that offer 200,000 dots screens and a diopter adjustment, making it much easier for spectacle wearers to look through the viewfinder.

The SL300 and SL240 have been optimised to provide a faster start-up, improved speed of Auto Focus and an upgraded response time. The power supply of these cameras has also been re-engineered to run on Lithium-ion batteries, allowing them to capture up to 300 frames on a single charge.

The T400 is the latest model to be introduced into the T-series of entry-level long zoom compact cameras and is designed to be used by those who enjoy traveling as well as everyday use.

The new T-series camera offers a 10x wide-angle optical zoom lens in a slim and stylish body, with a 28-280mm zoom range (35mm equivalent to a camera). It features a 16Mp CCD sensor and has an ISO range of 100 to 3200*. The Auto Focus speed has been dramatically improved, shutter lag has been reduced and the start-up time shortened. Further improvements have been made to the 3.0-inch LCD screen, which is now brighter and easier to see.

Some of the camera's features include Fujifilm's Motion Panorama mode, Smile & Shoot mode, Blink Detection, Face Detection and Automatic Scene Recognition. You can also shoot movies at the touch of a button, capturing 720p HD movies with the aid of the dedicated movie recording button.

The Fujifilm FinePix T400 will be available in five colours: Pink, Purple, Blue, Silver and Black.

The FinePix XP50 is the latest model in the XP series of all-weather compact cameras and follows on from the popular FinePix XP30.

The XP50 offers better image quality for both stills and movie capture, a 2.7in LCD screen with improved visibility and a body with ergonomic styling for no loss of grip, even when wet.

Like its predecessor, the FinePix XP50 is outstandingly durable. It’s waterproof to a depth of 5m and can capture both movies and still images underwater. The camera’s casing will withstand shocks or drops from a height of 1.5m and can withstand temperatures down to -10°C. T camera’s access points are also specially sealed to stop dust entering the camera. The lens also has a special water repellent coating to help minimize water droplets that can obscure or blur images. The LCD screen is protected by an Anti Reflection Coating and the double lock on the access hatch keeps the memory card, battery, USB and mini HDMI cable connection ports safely protected from water, dust or dirt.

The XP50 features a 14Mp CMOS sensor, a new image processor, CMOS Shift Image Stabilization and an ISO sensitivity that goes up to 3200. It has a 5x wide-angle Fujinon optical zoom lens (28-140mm equivalent to a 35mm camera) and has a minimum focus distance of 9cm. The FinePix XP50 can capture 1080p HD movies at 30fps it shoots panoramics in its Motion Panorama 360 mode.

The XP50 will be available in black, blue, green, orange and silver.

The new XP150 is the toughest FinePix yet. It can survive a drop from up to 2m, will work in temperatures down to –10°C, is waterproof down to 10m and its extensive weather seals protect it from dust and sand. The 5x optical zoom lens that provides a focal range of 28-140mm (35mm equivalent) features a water repellent coating to prevent water droplets spoiling your shots and the battery/memory slot cover comes with a new double lock design.

The Finepix XP150 has a new high sensitivity GPS antenna, making it easier to pinpoint your location. You can even track your movement and see the route you took on the camera's LCD screen. The camera also features an an electronic compass and Photo Navigation functions.

The camera features a 2.7in LCD screen that's now brighter than those found on previous models features an anti-reflection coating and the improved start up and focusing times over previous FinePix XP models ensuring that you’ll never miss a shot.

Inside the camera you'll find a 14Mp CMOS sensor, CMOS sensor shift image stabilisation and a wide ISO range from 100 to 3200. It features various shooting modes including continuous shooting which takes shot at 10fps and you can shoot 1080p HD movies at 30fps.

The XP150 will be available in five colours: black, silver, orange, green and blue.

The FinePix Z110 is deisgned for the 'style conscious snapper' and has a 14.1 megapixel CCD sensor, a 5x Fujinon optical zoom lens and a host of innovative functions.

Next to the FinePix Z110’s lens is a Frame Assist Mirror that’s curved to show the entirety of a scene and assist composition when the camera’s held at arms length for shooting a self-portrait or group shot. To help further, the camera features Face Detection and after an image has been taken, users can apply the FinePix Face Retouching function.

Night Out mode will help you take better pictures at parties and on nights out and is most effective when working at a distance of approximately 2m from the subject. The FinePix Z110’s Intelligent Flash technology provides the correct amount of illumination and with a maximum sensitivity of ISO 3200 users can turn up the camera’s capability for those times when they don’t want to fire the flash. In addition, the FinePix Z110 has Digital Image Stabilisation built-in, which reduces the effect of camera shake or subject movement.

The camera features a 2.7-inch LCD screen and the function buttons are illuminated for easy operation even in the dark. Motion Panorama and 720p HD movie capture modes are also available along side several other SR Auto modes.

The FinePix Z110 will be available in six colours: pink, purple, jade, blue, white and black.

The new Z1000EXR features a 16 megapixel EXR-CMOS sensor a Wireless Image Transfer function that allows users to connect their Android smartphone/tablet or iPhone/iPad with the camera and upload high-quality images to social networking sites in seconds.

The EXR-CMOS sensor has been redesigned to prioritise light sensitivity with a 30% reduction in digital noise over its predecessor, ensuring smoother tones in both highlight and shadow areas at higher ISO settings.

Fujifilm’s acclaimed EXR AUTO mode assesses the amount of available light, establishes the type of scene, tracks motion and locates any people within the frame before applying Advanced Anti Blur technology and choosing one of three optimised settings: High Resolution Priority mode for well-lit subjects and optimum image quality, Dynamic Range Priority mode for scenes of high-contrast or High Sensitivity and Low Noise Priority mode for smooth, sharp images taken in dark environments. Users can also choose to select the modes themselves.

The FinePix Z1000EXR also features a wide 3.5-inch LCD screen that offers touchscreen control with multi-touch capabilities for smartphone-style navigation.

When shooting portraits, face tracking combines Face Detection with Tracking Auto Focus to ensure any faces in a scene are always sharp, no matter where they move. The camera also has a Frame Assist Mirror which can be used when taking a self-portrait. If there’s more than one person to capture on camera, the Z1000EXR offers couple and group self timers. Switch to Couple Timer and the camera waits until two faces are close together before capturing an image, while Self-portrait Timer detects up to four individual faces, giving friends and family time to get ready for their close-up. After capture, users can choose to apply face retouching functions (Skin smoothing/brighten) to improve appearance even further.

The FinePix Z1000EXR also offers Full 1080p HD movie capture at a rate of 30fps for smooth and clear movies. Face Tracking Auto Focus locks on to any faces in the scene and will keep them sharp throughout filming, regardless of motion or the user recomposing.

The FinePix Z1000EXR, which is just 18mm thick at its thickest point, will be available in three chic colours: pink, jade green, white.
