Fujifilm has announced that a medium telephoto lens along with a standard macro lens will be released later this year. Plus, a new ultra-wide-angle lens will be introduced sometime in 2023.
The medium telephoto lens will be an XF 56mm f/1.2 that will replace the existing 50mm lens while the standard macro lens will be an XF 30mm R Macro and both will be available at some point in 2022. The ultra-wide-angle XF 8mm f/2.5 will be released in 2023.
Comments from Fujifilm on the new lenses:
- Fast medium telephoto prime lens "XF 56mm f/1.2" - This is a mid-telephoto lens to join the new-generation “large-aperture prime lenses” series that pursue ultimate image quality.
- Standard macro lens "XF30mm f/2.8 R Macro" - This is a compact macro lens with a standard angle of view. Its compact and lightweight design makes it a perfect walkaround lens. Covering a wide range of shooting situations including snapshots, landscape, portrait as well as tabletop photography of foods and accessories.
- Ultra-wide-angle prime lens "XF 8mm f/3.5" - This is a compact ultra-wide-angle lens that has the widest-angle focal length among prime XF lenses. Despite the ultra-wide-angle focal length, the lens is compact and lightweight, making it an ideal walkaround lens.
No other information or pricing details have been released so we'll have to wait and see what is announced and when.
