The Fujifilm X-T3 and Fujifilm X-T4 may look, at first glance, very similar, however, there are a number of differences that can be found between these 26mp X-Mount mirrorless cameras, which we'll go through here.

What's the same, or rather, what do the X-T3 and X-T4 share, or have in common?

  • 26mp X-Trans BSI CMOS sensor (APS-C)
  • X-Processor - Image processor
  • 3.69million dot EVF, with 0.75x magnification
  • X-Mount lens mount
  • Direct access to ISO, shutter, exposure compensation
  • ISO speeds available remain the same at ISO80 to ISO51200
  • Both cameras offer high-speed continuous shooting using the electronic shutter (up to 30fps)
  • Both cameras record CINE-4K / 4K UHD video
  • Weather-sealed magnesium alloy body

What's physically new on the X-T4?

  • IBIS - in-body image stabilisation (5-axis, sensor-shift)
  • New shutter unit - for faster mechanical shooting, and extended reliability
  • New battery - for extended battery life
  • 1.62million dot vari-angle touch-screen
  • Lockable eye-cup
  • Bigger AF-on button
  • Still / Movie switch (replaces metering switch)
  • Drive mode dial has an updated order
  • Top function button has been moved
  • Q-Button has been moved
  • Detachable SD card slot cover
  • Strap clips have been strengthened
  • Size increased - with a larger grip
  • Weight increase

 

Other key differences at a glance:

In addition to the differences mentioned above, the accessories available for the X-T4 are also different, with a new battery grip available for the X-T4, which accommodates for the new batteries that the X-T4 uses, the NP-W235. There's also a new charging unit to charge two batteries at the same time. The EF-X8, shoe-mount flash is now available as an optional accessory.

What "soft" features or other changes are there?

  • Eterna bleach bypass
  • New AF algorithms
  • Improved Movie functionality, including FullHD at 240fps
  • Digital Image Stabilisation option added for video
  • Separate Quick menus depending on whether shooting stills or video
  • MP4/AAC format added
  • Record on both SD cards at the same time (same format)
  • F-Log view assist - apply BT.709 gamma curve
  • Mic jack setting - MIC level / LINE level

We mention these as "soft" features, as these are the things that could potentially be added to the X-T3 with a firmware update.
