Fujifilm X20 Hands-On Preview: Fujifilm X20 (1)

The Fujifilm X20 is this years update to the popular Fujifilm X10, with a bright f/2.0 - f/2.8 4x optical zoom lens, with manual zoom control that is also used to switch the camera on and off. The camera has a number of new features, with the new optical viewfinder being the most noticeable, which overlays the shooting information over the view, although the optical view only gives 85% coverage. The Fujifilm X20 is expected to cost £499 when released in Mid-February.

While we only had a short amount of time with the camera, the build quality and handling were excellent, with a solid feel and gorgeous design, with the silver and black two tone colour scheme looking particularly attractive. Focus and shutter response seemed quick in use, and the menus were easy to navigate. We look forward to testing a full production version when available.

The price is as expected and worth every Penny.

The main changes are with the sensor, the auto focusing, and viewfinder, the biggest plus for me would be the focusing speed, not that the x10 is slow.

The new viewfinder information is handy but not a deal breaker, at least this will save on battery power.

Looks like they have included the firmware updates such as the Q menu and filters found in the x10 as well.

Pleasing to find the build is identical to the x10.
