Brighton Marina and Tower Bridge voted the UK's top photographic backdrops and you can now stand in the exact spot for that perfect snap.

80,000 UK Instagram posts have been analysed to find out which locations, in the UK, are our favourite photographic backdrops and in the capital, Tower Bridge took the top spot. Away from London, Brighton Marina proved to be the most popular with Oxford University following closely behind.
Using geographic location coordinates and hashtag data, the research team were able to find the exact spot at which the majority of photographs were taken at each of the top locations, as voted for by the public, and Google has mapped out exactly where you can find them (should you wish to follow in other people's footsteps or you may want to use the information to avoid over photographed spots).
As well as finding popular photographic locations, the research revealed that we're a bit of a vain nation with 66% admitting they'd consider an outfit change when capturing portraits/selfies in specific locations and 36% would even block the path of another person to capture the perfect shot! 74% said they take up to 5 photos to ensure they're happy with the result and 28% admitted they'd return to a location for a second shoot if they felt their portrait wasn't quite Instagram perfect.
The research was commissioned by Google to celebrate the launch of their Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL smartphones which, among other things, feature augmented reality maps.
Below you'll find lists of the most popular places to take photos in the UK, along with the coordinates of exactly where to stand for the perfect shot.
