Google has introduced the Google Pixel 3a and Google Pixel 3a XL mid-range smartphones to the Pixel smartphone range.

The new smartphones give users access to the Pixel's cool camera technology without the price-tag the improved hardware built into the more expensive Pixel 3 offers. 

AI Modes on offer include Night Sight - Google's rather impressive night mode, a portrait mode with depth of field options and creative colour popping.

There's still just the one rear 12.2MP camera built-in along with the AI tricks the Google Pixel has become famous for and on the front is an 8MP selfie camera but no top notch, instead, there's a small cutout top left of the screen that sits in a rather big bezel still which is quite different to the designs we've seen from the likes of Huawei and Samsung. 

Where the differences are with the older 3 and 3a versions of the Pixel is the lower resolution screen, plastic bodies, and different processor. As for what separates the 3a from the 3a XL, as you might expect with the names, is screen size with the Pixel 3a having a 5.6-inch (2140x1080) screen and the XL has a larger 6-inch display. Inside the Pixel 3a you find 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage. 

A 3700mAh battery is found in the 3a Pixel XL while the 3a has a 3000mAh battery built-in. Both offer fast charging.

As for the price, they're rather reasonable at £399 for the Pixel 3a and £469 for the Pixel 3a XL. Google's taking orders from today for both smartphones.
