Google has released the Google Pixel 4/Pixel 4 XL and in amongst the news about the new smartphones, Google has also said they are working on a version of the Night Sight mode, seen on the Pixel 4 range, for the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3a camera phones.

Night Sight already helps you take better photos in low light but on the Pixel 4, you can use Night Sight to also capture photos of the night sky - including the Milky Way.

"We’re working on bringing a version of this (Night Sight) capability to Pixel 3 and 3a with the latest camera app update," says Google.

As the Google Pixel 3a is a less expensive smartphone from the Pixel range, it might not have quite the same level of technology built-in but it'll still be interesting to see if stars can be captured on the smartphone
