Hama 3-in-1 Lens Cleaning Pen Kit Review: LensPen

The recommended process for cleaning the lens is:
  1. Blow it first to get rid of loose dust
  2. Brush away any dust with the brush
  3. Use the black soft carbon end that is covered with a cap to clean the lens
If this doesn't entirely clean the lens, breathe gently onto the surface and then rub the lens pen over it again.

Hama 3-in-1 Lens Cleaning Pen Kit Review: 3 in 1 LensPen Kit
3-in-1 Lenspen Kit - the Mini Pro II is especially useful for getting into corners or smaller lenses such as compact camera lenses. The brush and Lenspen can be used for screens, optical and electronic viewfinders, mobile phone screens, lenses and even glasses, although some of the larger surfaces benefit from wiping with the cloth afterwards.

Hama 3-in-1 Lenspen Kit Performance

Here we're showing a lens with dust and fingerprints and the after shot shows the same lens after it's been cleaned with the Lenspen, using both the large and mini Lenspen. The photos were taken with the dirty lens and afterwards with the clean lens. It's easy to see the flare from the lights caused by the dirty lens and the Lenspen has made a massive difference in image quality dramatically reducing ghosting and flare.

Value For Money

The 3-in-1 kit is available for £14.55 from MyMemory or alternatively, you can buy just the larger Lenspen on its own for £6.79. Alternative lens cleaning products tend to rely on moistened towels or sprays used with lens cloths and are available for around £15.

Hama 3-in-1 Lenspen Kit Verdict

The Hama 3-in-1 Lenspen Kit is excellent value for money and works very well, providing a solution suitable for a number of uses, whether it's a compact camera lens, screen or SLR lens. The product works without having to use any wet or moist products and is easy to use, although it would be good if instructions were included with the product.

I have had one of these pens for some time. I just don't feel happy about dragging that saucer shaped end over my expensive lenses so only use the brush. The cap doesn't stay on with mine either so I can't be sure that it is clean. Other than that I stick with the old fashioned liquid and tissue.
