The Hamdan International Photography Award
has been making an impression at the GITE technology week 2012. The award is in its second season of competition, and is set to have the largest grand prize in the world worth US$120,000.
The HIPA stand was visited by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates along with His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai. Sheikh Mohammed was shown the newly launched HIPA.ae website along with the official advertisement for the 2012 edition of the award.
Also visiting the HIPA stand was His Highness Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Chairman of the Dubai culture and arts authority, as well as Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the deputy Ruler of Dubai. Sheikh Maktoum was also given a preview of the new HIPA website which is currently accepting submissions for the second season of the award “Beauty of Light”.
Commenting on the participation at GITEX 2012, Sahar Al Zarei, the Assistant secretary general of HIPA said "this is our second participation at GITEX and we are looking forward to building on the success of out first participation last year. Our marketing campaign involves taking part in the biggest and most prominent trade shows globally and this has brought us back to Dubai and to GITEX. We are honoured to be participating here again".
Hosting some of the world's leading technology manufacturers, the Gitex technology week runs from the 14th until the 18th of October 2012 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The HIPA stand can be found at the “Sheikh Saeed Hall”, stand S3-B11.
