Hipstamatic X App

Hipstamatic, who is one of the oldest app companies in America, is celebrating its 10th birthday by introducing the Hipstamatic X photo app - an update to the original Hipstamatic app which brings the look of film cameras to the iPhone

"A decade is a long time, and while we’ve seen loads of photo apps enter and exit the category over the past ten years, Hipstamatic X is a return to what inspired them all. The joy of instant film and the availability of your iPhone are what makes this product special," said Lucas Allen Buick, Co-Founder. "The 'fun' of photography has really been drained over the years as we all worry about perfection. The brilliance of a point-and-shoot is that it captures a moment in time and as the photographer, you are free to continue to experience those moments without stopping to edit and share."

Hipstamatic X is available exclusively on iOS and is now a FREE download. A subscription is available which unlocks the company's archive of filters and presets should you want to play with more when taking photos with your smartphone.

"Our mission is to blur the line between the new world of computational photography and old-school instant film," Ryan Dorshorst, Co-Founder.

In the Hipstamatic X app, you find an array of nostalgic cameras you can select to 'take' photos with which includes a Pinhole camera, Tintype and Fisheye. When you hit the shutter button, the app recreates the look of the camera selected instantly and the creators say that thanks to new technology such as depth-sensing, the looks reproduced are more accurate than ever. You can also use the Eazy Camera which uses machine learning to pick a photo filter, it thinks, is most suitable for the scene in front of the camera.

The new Hipstamatic X app is available for pre-order now on the Apple store where it will be released, for free, tomorrow (1 October 2019).
