Honor Magic 2 Smartphone Has 'Slide-Up' Feature & 6 Cameras

Honor told us that the Magic 2 smartphone would have a front-facing camera that slides up out of the smartphone and they've kept their promise. 

The Honor Magic 2 features 6 cameras - three on the rear and three front-facing that pop up on a sliding mechanism, removing the need for a notch. The new smartphone also offers an impressive 40w fast charge and features a Kirin 980 chipset either with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and onboard storage sits at 128GB or 256GB but there's no MicroSD slot. 

As for the screen, it measures 6.4-inches and is an OLED panel with Full HD+ resolution.

The cameras, of which there are quite a few, are set-up as follows: Triple-lens rear camera - 24MP monochrome sensor, 16MP RGB sensor and 16MP ultra wide-angle lens. Front-facing camera - 16MP triple-lens that's retractable. 

AI is, of course, featured once again and it can help you retouch images as well as use portrait lighting and 3D facial recognition to improve selfies through beautification and bokeh modes.

Other features include a 3400mAh battery, USB-C, in-display fingerprint sensor (like the Huawei Mate 20 Pro) but no headphone jack. 

The Honor Magic 2 will be available in China from 6 November in 3 options: 

• 6 GB RAM + 128 GB - RMB 3799 (around £423)
• 8 GB RAM + 128 GB - RMB 4299 (around £479)
• 8 GB RAM + 256 GB - RMB  (around £534)

There's no word on when/if the device will reach the UK.
