Hoodman 3in Hoodloupe

To help view HD video on a 3in screen in bright conditions, Hoodman have released the Hoodloupe 3.0. As well as the Canon 5D MkII and 7D the Hoodloupe will work on other DSLR's such as the Nikon D90, D300S, D5000, D3s, Pentax K-x, K-7 and Panasonic GH-1.

Press Release:

With High Definition Video being an important feature on the Canon 5D MkII and new 7D, is it really possible to see HD video on a 3in screen in bright sunlight or strong artificial light? Hoodman have the perfect solution. The new 3in Hoodloupe fits exactly over a 3in screen, and to fit it to a D-SLR so that it can be used hands-free, the Cinema Strap.

To prevent any extraneous light from entering the Hoodloupe's eyepiece, there is also a shaped Hoodeye eyecup available for the Hoodloupe. Video cameras are not forgotten either, as for viewing a 3in monitor or LCD screen with the Hoodloupe we have the Hoodman Camcorder Mount Strap which attaches it to the screen.

If a 3.5in or 4in screen needs to be covered, we have the Hoodman Hoodriser which slips over the Hoodloupe and converts it into a 4in Loupe.

Clearly HD video in its various forms is not limited to the Canon D-SLR cameras mentioned above! Current DSLRs with 3in LCD screens capable of taking HD video and therefore suitable candidates for use with the Hoodloupe and accessories are The Canon 500D and new 1D MK IV, Nikon D90, D300s, D5000 and new D3s, Pentax K-x and K-7 and the Panasonic GH-1.
