Sometimes, creating a series of pictures that flows can have more impact than a series of scattered snapshots. Here are some top tips for creating stories with your photography:
Find A Good Topic
Take the time to choose a topic that can link all your images together before you start shooting. This could be something wide like 'Autumn', or something more refined, such as adventures in the back garden with your kids. For this you'll need a camera that can capture a wide variety of images such as those in the Smart NX range.
Make Images Detailed
Photography freezes moments in time, so make sure your audience is able to look at them for a long time, by making them both pleasing to the eye and packing detail in at the same time. Smart NX cameras, such as the NX1100, has a 20.3 megapixel sensor, to help you to capture tiny details even when there are low light conditions.
Provide Some Context
To make your images tell a story, you have to make sure they are understood in relation to one another. You could start with an overall image of the event or group, before focusing on smaller more detailed parts of the event or scene. For example, for the theme of Autumn, you could start with an image of a forest, then take images of leaves, the kids playing etc.
