With continued use, monitors lose the ability to display colours correctly and to fix this, the monitor will need its settings readjusting which means regular calibration is needed.
You can do this yourself (EIZO recommend performing the calibration process every 200 hours), however owners of EIZO CG, CX and CS series monitors can set a schedule so the monitor automatically calibrates itself. A bonus of this is that calibration can take place when the computer is off or when it's not in use which means the process won't have to get in the way of work.
On the CG series, calibration is completed via a built-in sensor and the same sensor automatically performs the scheduled, regular calibrations. For the CX and CS monitors the built-in correction sensor stores the calibration results obtained via an external sensor then the built-in correction sensor automatically adjusts the brightness and white point at regular intervals.
Here's how to set the calibration schedule for a CG series monitor:
Open the ColorNavigator6 software and click on the 'Advanced' button.
Select 'SelfCalibration settings' and a new window will open.
Check 'Enable SelfCalibration' and you can set the timing in months, weeks or elapsed time of use. There's also options for SelfCalibration to only occur when the monitor is not in use and for SelfCalibration to adjust colours in sRGB, REC709 and other colour modes.

For the CX and CS series you need to select 'SelfCalibration settings' from 'Advanced' and then check 'Enable SelfCorrection'. You'll be able to set the timing in elapsed time of use.
4 target values can be chosen to be automatically adjusted by the built-in sensor. Here's how you do it for each target:
For Windows:
Right-click on the adjustment target and select 'Set SelfCalibration/Self Correction target'.
For Macs
While holding down the control key, click on the adjustment target and select 'Set SelfCalibration/Self Correction target'.
