Huawei has released a new flagship smartphone and we've got our hands on the latest bit of kit.
| Huawei Mate10 Pro in Camera Phones
The Mate10 Pro is the latest smartphone to be released by Huawei and with its Leica f/1.6 lens and Artificial Intelligence that can automatically figure out what settings it should use to capture the best image of what you're pointing the lens at, it has the potential to be a really interesting smartphone for photographers.
We were at today's launch so we got the chance to get hands-on with the new smartphone, as well as take a few sample images and so far, we like what we see. The Huawei fits well in the hand, is quick in use and the pro camera options available, along with the new AI, are great tools for photographers.
We'll have more to say on the new Huawei as we use it to capture more images, shoot some video and put it to general, everyday use. It'll be interesting to see if it can knock the Samsung Galaxy 8 off our 'best smartphones for photography list' where the Honor 9 dual camera, also from Huawei, sits in fourth.
Check out the sample images we've captured so far below and do take a look at our news announcement, too.

I was playing around with the wide-aperture mode (it's not just for portraits) to see how well it performs in different scenarios. You can see more under the 'Wide Aperture Mode Vs Normal' section.
