This week's Photo of the Week accolade has been given to an image of a hummingbird mother feeding her chick.

The image, titled 'Mama Hummingbird' taken by ePz member RobDem was chosen by the team here at ePHOTOzine and here's why we thought it deserved to win:

This is an image of something very rarely seen - a hummingbird feeding her chick on the nest. It's a very intimate capture, which is well framed. The nest is precisely placed on a branch and is made of a mixture of interesting textures for the eye to explore. 

The rich green tones of the image give the impression of a lush forest environment and the emerald and ruby tones on the feathers of the mother give the image that special touch. It's lovely to see such a pure image.
