Nikon ambassadors from across the globe were asked to capture images with the theme 'In Pursuit of Light', capturing natural light in all its glory, and the results are stunning.

All the photographers used Nikon's Z7 full-frame mirrorless camera and various NIKKOR lenses in order to capture in a photograph when the pursuit of light means to them. Renowned photographers including Daniel Kordan, Mikko Lagerstedt, Lina Kayser, Krasimir Matarov and the UK's George Turner all took part in the challenge.

Twelve photographers in total delivered stunning imagery, from rural Japan to snow-covered Finland via the fjords of Western Norway and more.

Daniel’s ‘pursuit’, for example, saw him journey through temperatures as low as -15c as he hiked above Kawaguchiko lake and through the deep countryside of the Japanese alps, heading to Shirakawa-go and Ainokura to capture the ‘blue hour’ in local farmers’ villages.

Dirk Jasper, Manager Product Marketing at Nikon Europe, comments: “To explore the various forms of light across the natural environment, we invited 12 inspirational photographers to show us how light can be used and transformed to create breath-taking imagery. We equipped them with the Nikon Z 7 which, with just 16mm between the mount and the camera’s full-frame image sensor, allows more light to reach the sensor. This, combined with 45.7 MP of imaging power, 493 focus points and 4k video capabilities, creates the potential to work magic with light.”
