Insta360 8K VR Camera Announced At CES 2017: Insta360

Insta360 has announced a new VR camera at CES 2017 which it claims is a new benchmark in the technology - the Insta360 Pro

The new professional VR camera has a massive 8K resolution and can capture 3D images as well as create videos, creating immersive livestream capabilities.

The device utilises 6 independent HD lenses which capture 60 megapixel 360 degree 3D stills. HDR and RAW formats are both supported. When recording video up to 100fps is supported.

The camera uses world-class real-time image stitching producing seamless 360 degree video in 4K. H.264 and H.265 video compression, vastly improving video quality at the same bit rate.

The Insta360 Pro's RRP is set to be around $3000 and will be available on Amazon and Insta360’s official online store later this year.

We covered Insta360's iPhone add-on camera last year, which has been named the first to support Twitter and Periscope Live 360 Video.
