Under the metal frame and glass front/back there are also noticeable differences, too, and we'll be looking at these in more detail further down the article.

Construction
All 3 iPhone 11 smartphones have a similar design and as you'd expect from premium handsets, they all look well-built, modern and smart.
They all have metal frames (aluminium on the iPhone 11, stainless steel on the iPhone 11 Pro/11 Pro Max) and a glass back where the cameras are positioned top-left in a box. The jury is still out on the design of the cameras/back of the smartphones as it is unconventional but it's probably something iPhone users will just get used to.
The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max will be available in Gold, Space Grey, Silver and Midnight Green while the iPhone 11 will come in Yellow, Purple, Black, Green and White.
Display
The 2 more expensive iPhone 11 smartphones have OLED screens while the iPhone 11 has an LCD screen. There are also 3 screen sizes available, with each smartphone offering a slightly different resolution and dimensions.

- 6.1-inch LCD, 828x1792 resolution
iPhone 11 Pro
- 5.8-inch OLED 1125 x 2436 resolution
iPhone 11 Pro Max

Power
We don't actually know the exact sizes of the batteries built into the new iPhone 11 smartphones, Apple like to keep this information quiet, but we do know that the iPhone 11 Pro is meant to last up to 4 hours longer than the iPhone XS. Apple also says that the iPhone 11 will last up to 1 hour longer than the iPhone XR and the iPhone 11 Pro Max will last up to 5 hours longer than the iPhone XS Max.
Wireless charging is supported along with fast charging via the supplied 18w charger (not available with the iPhone 11, needs to be purchased separately).
Other
The iPhone 11 series is water-resistant (4 meters for the Pro/11 Pro Max, 2 meters for the iPhone 11), feature the Apple A13 chipset and run iOS13. There isn't a headphone jack (no surprises there) and we don't know how much RAM is built into each device as Apple keep this quiet.
Price
The three new smartphone models include the following:
- Apple iPhone 11, from £729 (64GB, sim-free)
- Apple iPhone 11 Pro, from £1049 (64GB, sim-free)
- Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max, from £1149 (64GB, sim-free)
Final Thoughts
On paper, and quite obviously, the iPhone Pro Max is the most impressive but also the most expensive. The screen size of the iPhone 11 Pro is a little disappointing, particularly for its price-point and even though the iPhone 11 is priced under £800, its lack of a triple camera set-up make it slip below other smartphones available for a similar price.
With the new range announced, the older iPhones might be available for more reasonable prices so do take a look at the iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and X to see if any of these older smartphone models could be ideal for you, too.
