Boinx software has announced that the next version of iStopMotion will support Canon DSLR live view.
The new software is now available to beta test on Mac. Supported Canon DSLR models include the EOS 40D, 60D, 60Da, 450D, 550D, and 700D.
In the past, when you wanted to use iStopMotion with a Canon DSLR camera, you had to do without the greatest feature of iStopMotion – the live preview with the semi-transparent onion skinning effect that allows you to see your next shot and make adjustments before capturing the frame.
This beta version is only available in English. Boinx encourages all beta testers to use the built-in feedback assistant to report Canon DSLR models that do not work with the live-view function, as well as provide any additional feedback on areas for improvement.
iStopMotion for the Mac is available both from the Mac App Store and the Boinx website for $49.99, or as a free update for existing version 3 customers. iStopMotion 3.2 requires OS X 10.7.4 Lion or newer.
