Following the sell-out success of Martin Parr's lecture in November, the PhotoVoice Photographers' Lecture Series will continue into 2008 with legendary British fashion and celebrity photographer John Swannell lined up to talk about his extraordinary life in pictures - from his subtly lit portraits of the British monarchy to his classically composed nudes and distinctive panoramic rural landscapes.
He is sure to captivate with his combination of opinion and anecdote, while a question and answer session will give the audience an opportunity to pit wits against one of Britain's most celebrated photographers. Swannell will also be signing copies of his latest book Nudes, 1978 - 2006 which are available to buy on the night.
Also available is the chance to win a day with John in his studio. John has generously offered himself up as a raffle prize - the lucky winner of which will enjoy a one-off opportunity to spend a day with him in his studio. Raffle tickets (priced at £5 each) can be purchased along with your lecture ticket online in advance and will be available for you to collect on the night. The winner will be contacted by telephone on the 9th April.
The event will take place on Tuesday 8th April 2008, 7pm at the Royal Geographical Society, 1 Kensington Gore, London, SW7 2AR. Tickets cost £10 in advance or £15 on the door.
