The Journal Folio for Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 from Case Logic is designed for use with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, comes in black, morel and phlox (on review here), has a 25 year warranty and is priced at around £25 ($39.99 on the Case Logic website). Other cases for tablets and e-readers are also available via the Case Logic website.
Journal Folio for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Features
The case is made with Polyurethane and as there are cut-outs, there shouldn't be any need to remove the case when using the tablet. There's a stylus holder on the front of the case and a closure strap keeps the folio shut when the tablet is not in use, meaning the device is protected. The inside of the Folio is soft, protecting the screen from scratches etc. when the cover is shut. When used as a stand, the case features several slots on one side of the case which means the user can pick from multiple viewing angles when using the tablet.
Journal Folio for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Handling
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is held in place via a frame which has a tab you tuck under the tablet to keep it in place. It's easy to slot in place and is removed just as easily, although you don't have to take the tablet out of the case to use the device.Journal Folio for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Performance
The case is easy to keep clean and isn't heavy or cumbersome to hold. On some generic cases, it can be hard to access buttons etc. as they are sometimes slightly covered by the case but as the Folio is specifically designed for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, ports and controls on the device are easy to access via the various slots left open. However, when used at one of the various viewing angles that's available thanks to the grooves featured on one side of the case, the tablet did slide down slightly, obscuring the front camera partly as a result. The tablet doesn't slide all the way out of the case and the stand is sturdy but if you want to Skype someone, you'll probably find that the camera will only be able to see part of your face because as mentioned, the case does partly cover the camera after the tablet has moved. The tablet would probably stay in a better position if the tab used to keep it in place was a little stronger. We didn't have any problem viewing photos and browsing the internet on the device when used at this angle, though and buttons etc. can still be easily accessed.
Journal Folio for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Verdict
There are plenty of cases for tablets on the market but the style / look of this particular model gives it a very professional finish, even in the brighter Phlox shade we have on review here. The Journal Folio for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 is practical and easy to use, however the price may seem high to some but it does sit in the same price band as many other cases available on the market. It's just a shame the tablet slips a little when used at a higher angle.Journal Folio for Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Pros
